Elysium

2025
Duration 50′

Elysium is a choreographic composition born from the encounter between the visual poetics of painter and illustrator Lou Benesch and Elysium Planitia, a Martian landscape suspended between reality and imagination.

This dialogue between enigmatic and surreal worlds is reflected in the physical writing of the performance, where the presences on stage meet and listen to one another, weaving relationships made of contrasts, complicity, and subtle resonances.

The research moves through a fluid exploration of identities and relational dynamics. The bodies gradually converge into a single, living matter in deep listening, where each individual preserves their own unicity without any coercion, giving rise to a shared agreement that spontaneously guides the stage action.

Simone Grande’s musical research weaves into this journey, where the boundaries between bodies dissolve and reassemble in unprecedented forms. The choreography thus shapes itself as a condition of the body that mutates, migrates, and resists any rigid definition.

The references to Benesch’s painting and the suggestions of the Martian landscape merge into a suspended vision, where continuous transformation becomes the poetic driving force of the entire work.
